10 Ways to Invite Someone Out in Everyday French (with audio)
Making plans to hang out with friends in French ? Here's a list of phrases to help you invite someone out and have a good time together.
The examples below include suggesting a coffee, a dinner, a movie, a walk in the park or in town. Listen to the audio for the phrases and possible answers several times. After a while, you'll start to use them (and hear the answers) instinctively without much thought!
1. Ça te dit d'aller prendre un café?
How about grabbing a coffee?
You can also say "Ça te dirait d'aller prendre un café?". This version suggests you're a little more unsure the person will accept as compared to "ça te dit".
Possible replies:
"Allez! Chiche!" (Let's do it! I dare you!)
"Ah oui pourquoi pas!"
"Désolé, là je ne peux pas."
2. Tu veux sortir ce soir?
Do you want to go out tonight?
You can also say "On sort ce soir?"
Possible replies:

Ça me tente bien!
Je suis un peu fatigué(e) ce soir, une autre fois ?
3. On pourrait aller voir un film ensemble.

You can also say: "On pourrait se faitre un ciné si tu veux?"

You can also say: "On dîne ensemble samedi?"
Possible replies:
